The Top 3 Places Where Women Are Most Likely To Cheat
By Mike Hatcher Written on Apr 05, 2021
Unlike what some individuals would like to believe, infidelity among married women is now more than ever at an all time high.
According to the National Opinion Research Center, approximately 40 percent of married women are more likely to cheat on their husbands than they would have 20 years back.
This is naturally not earthshaking news. Society as we know it has lost all the virtues of what marriage once meant. There is a great laxity of morals, and promiscuity has silently gained widespread acceptance.
There is not a lack of fodder to lead both men and women to commit adultery. From lascivious online dating sites and forums to glossy tabloids, casual sex is unfortunately deemed as an indispensable part of urban life.
There are still other causes of adultery however, this is by far is not the only mitigating factor when it comes to women cheating on their husbands. Your bedroom performance, emotional disconnect or even just the allure of cheating and not getting caught have also been known to lead many women to be unfaithful.
Usually, the assumption is that men are more likely to commit adultery than women. But the fact still remains that ladies are by far, not less, susceptible to cheat.

Who’s Likely To Cheat
More than 50 percent of all married women, at some point, cheat on their mates, says Weil, so husbands should never be too cocky that their wife won’t stray. “You have to be on the alert that at any moment you could lose your partner,” she says.
20/20 and Men’s Health Magazine chose three married women a stay-at-home mom, a model and a production artist to participate in a fidelity experiment.
They all say they are committed to their marriages and have never cheated on their husbands, but after examining their lifestyles, Weil says one of them is more likely than the others to commit adultery.
Weil’s determination of who is most likely to cheat was based on the women’s fidelity factors which are listed below. Her conclusion was that Erin, the stay-at-home mom whose husband regularly travels, is the most likely to be unfaithful. Click here to see that Weil’s analysis was not a surprise to many ABCNEWS.com users. You can also watch video of the three women making their predictions.
Natasha Pyle, a 29-year-old model, is a year and a half into her second marriage. She says she likes to flirt and gets a lot of attention from men. She and her husband enjoy going out dancing together and often have lunch together when she’s not working. She says she is committed but admits she often holds grudges after arguments with her husband. Natasha was born in Russia where extramarital affairs are more common than in the United States.
Why People Cheat In Relationships
According to Psychology Today, cheating involves different factors, including individual reasons, which encompass gender orientation, personality, personal beliefs, etc. Relationship reasons also play a significant role. There are also situations where an individual can be more vulnerable to cheating, such as being in areas where the general attitude toward infidelity is more liberal compared to other places. While legal views on extramarital affairs tend to be more objective, things are a bit different when they are viewed from a moral perspective.

Cheating Myth #: Men Cheat More Often Than Women
This may have been true in the past, but recent data, including a 2015 Indiana University study, suggests otherwise. In fact, men and women are now in a statistical dead-heat: 20% to 20%. Kristen Mark, Ph.D., one of the researchers who contributed to this landmark study, the reasons for the equalizing numbers arent absolutely clear. It may be that more women are cheating now, or it may be that in this age of baring it all on social media women may be more willing to admit it.
For Some People Cheating Might Only Include Sex But For Others Flirting With Someone Might Count

The people responding to the question about whether they thought their partner had ever been unfaithful were free to interpret infidelity in any way they chose. Perhaps that makes the 5% statistic even more surprising. For some people, cheating might only include sex, but for others, flirting with someone might count. With the freedom to interpret infidelity as we wish, were still very optmisitic that it will never happen to us.
Defining emotional infidelity is particularly difficult. One place where emotional transgressions might occur is in the workplace where overlapping professional and personal interests result in close relationships. Plausibly this would allow for opportunities to transgress from innocuous friendships to something more intimate.
In one study, researchers interviewed women about their attitudes towards workplace relationships. These women, all in their 30s and 40s and in committed relationships, were asked about times they felt the lines between appropriate and inappropriate workplace relationships became blurry.
I cant lie, I look forward to seeing him at work, said one interviewee, it feels like a stupid school girl, you know, like when you have a crush on somebody and you see them and youre like Oh! and you get excited.

What Is Classified As Cheating
Its important to note that cheating can come in many different forms. Most people associate this term with physical acts of infidelity, but it is possible to cheat on someone emotionally. Emotional cheating involves sharing your deepest, most private thoughts with someone other than your spouse, breaking the fundamental bonds that keep a marriage together. Whether you physically interact with another person or you just give yourself over to them mentally, you can still do tremendous damage by straying from your relationship.
Place Of The Week: Palafoxiana Library
Palafoxiana Library in Puebla, Mexico, is the oldest public library in the Americas, according to UNESCO. The Associated Press recently paid it a visit and studied its religious roots.
The library owes its existence to one of Pueblas early Catholic bishops, Juan de Palafox y Mendoza, who in 1646 donated his private library of 5,000 volumes to a local religious college with the hope that anyone who knew how to read would have access to them. In 1773, more than a century after Palafoxs death, the bishop of that era ordered the construction of a majestic library to house the collection, The Associated Press reported.
The article pointed out that tourists hoping to see the library might get a little confused when they first walk in. Its vaulted ceiling and the Virgin Mary portrait near the entrance make it seem more like a chapel than an academic space.

Statistics On Second Marriage From Affairs
Finding the percentage of affairs when one partner was married that last can be a challenge. Statistics aren’t favorable for affairs resulting in marriages. In fairness, most second and third marriages fail regardless of why the first one ended.
- Dr. Jan Halper, in her book on successful men, noted that only three percent of men who engaged in extramarital affairs actually married their mistresses.
- According to noted marriage counselor Frank Pittman, men who do marry their paramours, have a divorce rate as high as 75%.
- In an overview of infidelity research from the Zur Institute, it was found that most affairs don’t go beyond the “falling-in-love” phase and are short-term.
How To Recover From Infidelity Should You Forgive Or Walk Away
Being cheated on is a very difficult and damaging experience to go through. Yet, its something from which you can grow and learn new ways of accepting and seeing yourself.
1. Take some time to yourself to think the situation through, to be in touch with what it caused you.
Sit down and have a moment to calm down and process the emotions the feeling of betrayal is undeniably overwhelming.
After that, try to sort it out with yourself, try to get in touch with what youre feeling, and the emotions the situation is causing you to experience.
See if that is manageable, and see if thats something youd go through for your partner and the relationship.
If the situation is too overwhelming, and you feel like this is something youre not able to manage well, then seek the help of a therapist.
2. Have a conversation with your partner: ask the right questions and the right amount of questions.
After taking your time to process everything, you can have a conversation with your partner. A conversation through which you ask the questions that are bothering you.
What did you do with him/her? or How did he/she touch you? wouldnt help you to solve much of the puzzle if youre looking for ways to save the relationship or have peace of mind.
Instead, you can try a Why? or What was the motive behind this behavior?.
Ask anything thatd give you peace of mind, and collect the information you need to feel at peace with yourself.
3. Make a decision that feels right to you.

What Do The Numbers Say

Some websites have published unverified numbers claiming that about 40% of unmarried relationships and 25% of marriages see at least one incident of infidelity.
Another estimate from the journal of Marriage and Divorce concludes that a mindblowing 70% of married Americans cheat at least once in their marriage.
More reliable numbers from the US General Social Survey point to lower statistics for infidelity, but they are still worrisomely high.
According to the General Social Survey, twenty percent of men cheat compared to 13 percent of women.
According to LA Intelligence Detective Agency the numbers are somewhat higher. They write that:

The 5 People Your Spouse Is Most Likely To Cheat With
Men and women tend to cheat with the same types of people. Heres who to look out for.
Fears of infidelity affect most marriages at one time or another. And while cheating is as old as commitment itself, modern technology and social media complicate things, opening the door to micro indiscretions that blur the line between emotional and actual betrayal. But spouses do cheat, and cheating spouses tend to be predictable in the choices they make. When a straying partner decides to cross that line, they dont step out with just anyone its often very calculated. In fact, the vast majority of extramarital affairs happen between people who know each other and are already in the same social orbit.
Men and women who cheat usually start and conduct their affairs in everyday places: the office, the gym, the neighbors house, or online, through either an opportunistic encounter or by rekindling a former flame. What do these situations have in common? They all spark temptation and offer opportunity. There may be few definitive signs that your spouse is having an affair but once infidelity comes to light, clear patterns and trends emerge. If most cheating spouses tend to fall into affairs in the same five scenarios, what are they and what can you do?

Research From Cu Boulder Graduate Student Strives To Gain Better Understanding Of Infidelity
Americans who admit to having extramarital sex most likely cheat with a close friend, according to research from the University of Colorado Boulders Department of Psychology and Neuroscience.
Just over half of those reporting extramarital sex said they were unfaithful with someone they knew well, such as a close friend. About a third of affairs are with someone whos somewhat well-known, such as a neighbor, co-worker or long-term acquaintance . The rest of affairs occur with casual acquaintances.
And on the question of who reports cheating more, the researchersLindsay Labrecque, a PhD psychology student, and Mark Whisman, a psychology professor at CU Bouldersay it is consistently reported more frequently by men, despite reports from the media and some clinicians that men and women engage in infidelity at similar rates.
The researchers culled data from nine years of the General Social Survey, analyzing responses from 13,030 people nationwide.
Lindsay Labrecque
The two researchers found that about 21 percent of men and 13 percent of women reported infidelity at some point in their lifetime and that this gender difference has been consistent from 2000 to 2016.
Labrecque adds that men are more likely than women to hold more favorable attitudes about extramarital sex.
Labrecque and Whisman say they wanted to shed more light on extramarital sex, especially about the identity of extramarital partners along with gender differences and attitudes.

How Is Cheating Defined
Cheating doesnt have to always have to include sex either. Emotional affairs are even more common than physical affairs because to the cheater, it doesnt really feel like cheating. If one spouse is getting their emotional needs satisfied outside of the marriage and thinks more about their âfriendâ then they do their spouse, then an affair might be going on.
We often think of cheating spouses being unhappy with their marriage, but for a majority of cheaters, this just isnt the case. Most cheaters are actually happy with their life and arent really looking for a way to end their marriage. Most affairs actually start through friendships that develop over time through close quarters contact. Sometimes cheaters just cheat because they want to fix their marriage and arent willing to confront the real problems that are present.
As the statistics show, sometimes a marriage sets itself up for cheating. If two spouses are going in two different directions all day and never spend time with each other, then they have the highest risks of infidelity happening within their relationship. The good news is that the statistics also show that cheating doesnt have to end a marriage.
