Carlo Acutis, a Catholic Italian teenager who died in 2006, was beatified Oct. 10, 2020 in Assisi. He died within a week of being diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukemia. Acutis, a gamer and computer programmer who loved soccer and the Eucharist. He built a website cataloguing and promoting Eucharistic miracles. His cause for canonization began in 2013. He was designated Venerable in 2018, and was designated Blessed October 10, 2020.There have been many miracles attributed to his intercession.

Part of the role that I played was making sure to stay on top of new technology for the organization. With that, meant that I trained all staff on how to use the various technologies and social media platforms. That meant educating the Women of Faith speakers on how to use Twitter and Facebook. Instagram came later.
It sure would be funny to watch the Women of Faith speakers try to use TikTok unfortunately everything folded before then. All these years later, it is really neat to see that several of the WOF speakers are still active on social media.

Women Of Faith Belong Tour
In 2017, the Women of Faith brand as well as The Belong Tour sold to GJ Reynolds and Alita Reynolds.
Unfortunately after the company was sold the Women of Faith Belong Tour went downhill fast. It was a live event tour in its infancy and hadnt sprouted its wings.
By the time the company was moved to new owners, there wasnt money to fund it. Needless to say, it got bad.
Since then, the Women of Faith conferences and events were dissolved and the only remaining element that is not associated with the original team or speakers is the social media presence.

Dynamic Women Of Faith Conference
Coming up on Saturday, March 19, St. Josephs feast day is the Dynamic Women of Faith Womens Conference. It is being held virtually. You can see additional information here to learn more and to register. I have spoken in-person at one of the Womens Conferences and also spoke virtually during the pandemic.
The founder of Dynamic Women of Faith, Dorothy Pilarski of Toronto, Canada took time out of her busy schedule to answer a few questions from me.
Donna-Marie: You have been doing this for sometime now, Dorothy. Why are you passionate about putting on these types of events?
Dorothy Pilarski: Donna-Marie, the reason I am so passionate about putting on these types of events is quite simply, because it changes lives. I remember the year my now husband proposed to me after a talk by Kimberly Hahn, at a Defending the Faith conference at the Franciscan University of Steubenville. It was a life changing and riveting experience. At that same conference I heard Dr. Alice von Hildebrand speak. Although I was raised a Catholic, , I had never met women that were so rooted in their faith and spoke about it so articulately.
After years of hosting events for women, moms started approaching us saying that their daughters needed to hear these speakers, and so we introduced Calling ALL Girls. Its been a very popular mother-daughter event. These events have also helped our ministry find Catholic Moms Group Leaders. Its all been very exciting.

Learning Together For The Transformation Of The World
Beginning in 2022, we are taking an exciting new approach to Mission u curricula. This means there will be one transformative biblical curriculum for everyone. One for adults, one for youth, and one for children all focusing on a shared biblical theme: Luke 13. There is no registration fee for children 5-12 if they are with a parent or grandparent.

This year, as we study Luke 13, we find ourselves in a period of disruption and uncertainty. In the midst of a devastating pandemic, divisive political climate, unaddressed systemic racism, ecological crises, and economic turmoil, we turn to the stories of Jesus that have anchored Christian communities for two millennia.

United Women In Faith
United Methodist Women is now United Women in Faith! The move is part of a refreshing of the organization that includes a new logo and an array of new and improved programs to nurture current members and welcome new women to join to put their love in action on behalf of women, children, and youth.
The organization announced the new operating name in the March-April edition of response, its bimonthly magazine for members, and is launching the rebrand with a new website and Face Book event March 3 at 1 pm ET.
The new programs are fruits of research conducted over the past five years with more than 24,000 United Methodists and women of other Christian traditions participating in the surveys, focus groups and interviews. This input informed the prayerful discernment of staff and elected leaders.
The changes are designed to address the different needs and life stages of current members and new women and expand options for membership and engagement. The new name also aims to welcome current members whose local churches may choose to disaffiliate from The United Methodist Church as well as women of other faith traditions who want to join.
New and innovative programs will be rolled out throughout 2022, including:
A new, easier to navigate website with a homepage designed to pique new womens interest in United Women in Faith and a special portal set to come online later this year where members can log in to access additional resources.

History Of Women Of Faith
Here is a brief history of Women of Faith. At just 19, I was in college and got a job at New Life Clinics answering the phone for their radio show. The founder, Steve Arterburn also founded Women of Faith. The New Life offices were right next to the WOF offices
Fast forward a year, I started at WOF. Shortly after I joined the company, WOF was acquired by Thomas Nelson Publishers.
In 2014, Women of Faith was sold to WME also known as Willow Morris Endeavors. There, WOF lived under the Live Events umbrella.
Luke 1: A Transformative Biblical Curriculum For Adults Youth And Children
In 2022, all three curricula will be on the topic of Luke 13.
Beginning in 2022, we will introduce a new model of Mission u curricula. Instead of creating separate studies that examine spiritual growth, justice, and national and global social issues, we are integrating these commitments into one curriculum. This means there will be one curriculum for adults, one for youth and one for children.
Our goals are to make this curriculum widely adaptable and easy to use in districts, units, and local churches, as well as to create intentional opportunities for intergenerational learning.

Women of Faith hit its hay-day in Id say 2002. There were over 350k women who attended Women of Faith conferences that year. While attendance did start to decline, more so when we hit 2010 it was a natural progression.
The regular line-up for WOF featured women who were older. Traveling became more complicated as the speaker team aged.
